As you interview people about their occupational folklife, ask them to list some things that they learned in school, college, or formal job training. Then ask them to list what they learned directly or by observation on the job or from colleagues, supervisors, or people they serve. How did learning in a formal, academic setting differ from learning traditionally, by word of mouth and observation? How were they similar? You could print out or draw a Venn diagram and use it to illustrate your findings.
